South Africa had 15,002 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases, according to health minister Zweli Mhkize.
There have been a total of 29,175 deaths to date from a total of 1,088,889 confirmed positive cases with 172,917 from the Eastern Cape. There have been 897,704 recoveries.
With 295,450 confirmed cases, Gauteng has the highest number of infections nationwide.
